Wagyu beef (American Kobe): 50% Wagyu 50% Shorthorn USDA inspected
Here is a Wagyu Beef steer steaks, hamburger, and other cuts up for sale by the pound. Both sire and dam (3rd and 4th pics) are beefy animals and so was the steer. Shorthorns are a British breed and like all British breeds tend to marble better than Continental breeds and way over Indus breeds. The steer was raised on a pasture with lots of lespedeza and gained weight well. When I have to call and work the cattle I use about 15 lbs of grain and this entices about 20 cattle I have at this pasture to come running, but the smaller never get much until they grow bigger. So the steer probably had little grain until about a year ago and even then with the small amount of grain spread out he would not have gotten much. As a result of being half Wagyu and raised on mostly on grass, the cuts are more lean than most Wagyu cuts who are finished on grain.
